I'm so glad you have chosen to visit our website pages today. I hope you will find the information informative and inviting. That's a big part of our ministry philosophy: to support and educate each other in our pilgrimage of faith and to continually encourage others not yet on the journey to be a part of what God is doing in our lives and our world.
Littleton Baptist Church is proud of our heritage and faith and once again we will have the opportunity to celebrate this heritage with Homecoming. This year will mark 143 years of ministry and service to the community of Littleton. This will be celebrated on Sunday, November 13 at 11:00 A.M.
We will be honored to have the Rev. Tom Bodkin as our guest speaker. Rev. Bodkin, a native of Raleigh, served Warrenton Baptist Church as Pastor in the interim for one year, then served as pastor for a little over two years, concluding his ministry there at the end of 2015. Prior to coming to Warrenton Baptist, he was Associate Pastor for Congregational Care at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh for 12 1/2 years. Before going to Raleigh he served Rosemary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids for 18 1/2 years.
During his ministry he has served churches in Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina. Active in the work of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina he has served on numerous committees and was elected Vice President of the General Board. He has served two terms on the Board of Directors for the NC Baptist Foundation. For one term he served as President of the Board.
Reverend Bodkin is married to the former Betty Stanford of Kinston, who is a retired piano teacher. On July 30 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He is the nephew of the late Rev. Herbert and Ruth Baucom. Rev. Baucom served as a former pastor of Littleton Baptist Church (1974-1978).
Plan now to join us for this special day in our church. A covered dish meal will be served Homecoming Style after the service!
